Suriname 2013


Metamorphosis was selected to be a part of the Trinidad and Tobago contingent form the Eighth Caribbean Festival for the Creative Arts.In August 2013 our Artistic Director, Rehearsal Director and a group of our dancers went to Suriname to preform a selection of our repertoire in a number of shows throughout the festival.

Marie Lashley


Talented eighteen year old Marie Lashley received the 2013 award of the Kathleen Armstrong Kilgour (KAK) Dance Scholarship.During the award ceremony on Tuesday 2nd April, Nancy Herrera, Artistic Director of Metamorphosis summed up her character as follows: This years’ winner is definitely talented, very committed.  I find it very difficult to figure her out because we cannot work out whether she is shy, but she has a fierce opinion inside.  I would like to congratulate her on being pushed because she doesn’t want to be pushed but at the same time allowing us to push her.

Mercedes Prevatt 


Young and talented Mercedes Prevatt has received the 2014 Kathleen Armstrong Kilgour (KAK) Dance Scholarship.During the award ceremony on Saturday 14th June, Nancy Herrera, Artistic Director of Metamorphosis explained that “Mercedes was chosen for her commitment and passion for dance. She has shown amazing promise and maturity for her age. She is disciplined, determined and hard-working.”

The company has worked and continues to work in close collaboration with various local and international artists, such as the Lydian Singers, Trinidad and Tobago's leading choir; Choreographers: Noble Douglas, Sonja Dumas, Dave Williams, Richard Lessey, Bridgette Wilson, Patricia Roe, Gregor Breedy, Claudia Applewaite, Frederick Jahn, Patricia Ruanne, Roderick Johnson, Sat Balkaransingh, Gary DeMatas, Joyce Kirton, Delton Frank, Jeffrey Carter, Reggie Wilson, Nicole Wesley, Elvis Radgman, Ronald Taylor, Priya Malhotra,Major Nesby who has danced with Ailey II and Ballet Hispanico, Taurus Broadhurst founder/ artistic director of Washington DC based company Taurus Broadhurst Dance, Viki Psihoyos a former Balanchine dancer, Terry Springer the artistic director of Coearte in Venezuela; former Martha Graham soloist Peter London; former Alvin Ailey dancer André Largen; leading Caribbean director Tony Hall; the late Beryl Mc Burnie, Trinidad and Tobago's "Grande Dame" of Dance, Astor Johnson, Aubrey Adams, Pat Bishop and Carlisle Chang; Designers Robert Las Heras, Gillian Bishop, John Christopher and Simone Phillips; master drummer Everald "Redman" Watson.

EDINBURGH 2015

The company was invited to perform at the EICC theatre as part of the Booking Dance Festival at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on August 12th-16th 2015. The group had a wonderful time performing and networking with other dance companies.
